Regarding the SPG "Bear Grease" above here is what they advertise for what it is worth.
SPG BEAR Grease: This product was developed primarily for cool or cold weather use, however, it has multiple uses and makes a fantastic year-round patch lube. Upon development I started out with goals for the lubricant that are listed below:
It would remain soft and oily even at freezing temperatures.
It would perform beyond expectations as a ML patch lube, especially in hunting conditions.
It would perform exceedingly well as bullet lube on both muzzleloading and cartridge bullets.
It would have enough consistency for effectively being used in pan lubing bullets.
It would have the consistency for being effectively used in bullet Lubri-sizers.
It would support keeping powder and barrel fouling soft as expected of all SPG bullet lubricants.
It would be an effective barrel bore prep and storage treatment.
It would exceed accuracy expectations in the hunting field and competition.
* Additional applications:
It’s a very effective brass case sizing wax. If you like the current popular case sizing wax, you will love Bear Grease.
It can effectively be used as a 22RF bullet lubricant. Testing has shown it prevents the carbon ring from developing in the chamber causing chambering and feed/fouling issues. Comes in a 2oz tin or 8oz block only.
With respect to the polar bear Alaska patch label. It’s a tribute to WW2 North Pacific servicemen & my grandfather, SSGT. Cecil A. Lindberg, 11th Army Air Corps, Aleutian Islands, 1943-45. 35 missions in a B-25 medium bomber.
