How to cut these
« on: January 19, 2026, 01:31:38 AM »
The jaeger I am working on will have these fancy cast metal pieces on the sliding patch box lid. I am a long way from working on that part yet, but every time I look at them I wonder how I can most easily cut off the casting sprues.

Epoxy  them to a board, then when done a bit of heat will release them.
A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

Don’t cut all of the spruce off.  You need a bit to drill an hole thru for pins to retain brass piece to wood.  Suggest B you call/discuss with Ron Scott.

WOW! These pics make me glad that I’ve never been attracted to Jaegers.
