Thanks Dana! She's a .40 cal with a straight, 42" Colerain barrel. Davis Late English Lock and Davis triggers. The stock is plain-Jane hard maple with about a 13 1/2" pull. It was my first attempt at building from a blank, so I didn't want to take on anything too complicated. I just hoped to get the lines right first off. I forgot to tell Pecatonica to drill a 5/16" ramrod hole and they drilled out 3/8" instead. That kind of made things too tall though the wrist and lock area, but it still looks okay.
John House forged the hardware for all the class members and then he taught us how to assemble the pieces. I did all the fit and finish work on the buttplate; trigger guard, and side plate (I really do like doing filing work for some reason). Hershel taught us how to pour the the pewter muzzle cap and I did that too. Hershel let us use some of his stamps on our forgings, so I took advantage of that perk! He even engraved my name on the barrel and that is what really makes this gun special for me.
