I keep saying there should be a thread where everyone can post there hunt photos from this and all seasons, here it is. Post them here,I'll go first.This is my first flintlock buck,got my doe 30 minutes earlier but no picture. November 14th 2015,opening morning. .45 cal j.p.beck I made.

Nice buck and rifle! No deer for me for awhile but here's some smaller game.

I like this thread. I've posted these before, but I'll add them here where they are appropriate.
These are images of me and two moose I shot with my .62 cal Hawken, two successive years. I've got to go back to that place!

..and here's a ruffed grouse I shot with my Manton 15 gauge pelter. I think I'll always remember this one, as he was flying hard right to left at about 25 yds.

I din't normally take pictures before the digital revolution in photography and wouldn't have had this one either, but I got this bird first thing in the morning and was home just as my wife was going out, so she memorialized the moment, Hah! When we got the pictures back from the drug store I remember thinking, who's that old guy with my bird?!?!?!? 20Ga. no choke.

About an hour after posting some hunt pics above, I headed out to see if I could fill my last turkey tag. It was a short hunt.

A couple of bucks from last year;

This was my first attempt at building a fowler, 12ga, jug choked, took me a year to finish it. On my first trip to the woods with it this buck walked out.

This rifle was my first build, it took me two years to finish. I have killed 5 or 6 deer with, it is a .54. Last years deer, didn't know the remrod was sticking out when I took the selfie;

A squirrel hunt with my .36 SMR.

What's left of one of the bobcats I killed with an underhammer .45 around 1966.

A big doe I killed with my .62 smoothbore; a running shot no less!

Took my "cap" gun to South Dakota a few years back duck hunting and another pic of a deer hunt here in WI before things got "all grey"

Bob Miller sent me three pictures to post on his behalf. This nice bear was shot with a NorthEast fowling piece 12 bore with paper cartridge, 120 gr. BP and a .715" ball.

I'm sure he'll comment further when he sees his pictures.

Same gun...Canada goose ...

....and finally, a big doe with a Edward Marshall .62 cal.

Thank you very much for posting those photos for me , Taylor. The Chambers New England fowler is my favourite, most used hunting gun. The hunting distances aren't that long here in the Eastern Ontario woods, so the smoothbore is more than adequate in the accuracy dept. That load combo snatches the life out of everything it hits. The .62 rifle is my moose gun, but it wanted exercise, so I used it for deer last year.

I merely posted this for a friend, I did not do the dastardly deed mysef, However, I surely laughed & quite heartedly at that, when I saw the picture.

There must be more than one bunny cavorting with chickens, as this picture is 3 or more years old & I noticed there were eggs found at my Granddaughter's house.

Great photos guys. Bob, that looks like a nice bear and that doe sure does look to be a big one. Too bad about that rabbit though, but that's what you get when you try to steal some kids easter eggs.

OK but even so I quess Santa made it by that neck of the woods without one of his raindeer hanging from your meat pole.Still disappointed in this behavior

Ok Guys Be easy on Me..
This was my first black powder turkey shot with a T/C New Englander 12 ga.
This hooked me deep...
The start of my transition away from cf shotguns.
I now hunt them with a flint English half stock 10 ga. cyl bore. (Dunlaps fowler kit)
20-25 yard shots...Hooked deep

Same year first flintlock whitetail..Hooked deeper still..

I let my little buddy shoot half of these. We took turns. Ran out of shot cause I had to shoot several of them twice to get them to let go of the limb they were clinging to. My buddy ran back to the truck to get some 12 gauge modern shells so we could cut them open for the shot to finish the day. Dang took us over an hour to clean all of them.

Little 40 and supper at the camp. Rip out the breast. Slice it in two. Beat each piece with a meat hammer on a cutting board to make a nice tender pattie. Cover in seasoned flour and fry a meal for two. SOP for a fall lunch in the Potomac Highlands of WV

Thanks for the compliment on the gun, Mole Eyes. No, I didn't build it but did make a few minor modifications with help from a BP friend who does build occasionally. It weighs around 7.5 pounds or maybe a tad less and has a rear sight. It's accurate for deer well past 50 yards and does well with shot. It's a favorite and a keeper; I just like it a lot. And you're right; good, plain quality and no frills.
