Zip.  I've read enough stories of accidents to not do that.

One.  A 45 flintlock.  Deer season ended 4 days ago.  Figure I will discharge the load at a coyote soon, then, clean and store her.

If it's loaded, do your family a favor and flag it. You never know when you may be unexpectedly called to the big hunting woods in the sky.

Per the fish and game regulations here a muzzleloader is considered loaded when there is a cap on the nipple of a caplock or powder in the pan of a flintlock.
Therefore, there are no loaded muzzleloaders in my house right now. 😉

One, and one double rifle freshly unloaded this morning for a cleaning.

No loaded front-stuffers in the house. But everyone in my house will tell you that all the guns are loaded... Until inspection proves otherwise.

I like Semisane's flag. I've done the same with a lot of my firearms.

Every single one of mine is loaded, but it's not "in the house" at this point in time.

None. No reason to do so & I could forget.

None at my house either. However, plenty of other more practical weapons always loaded and at hand.

I can imagine that would.it would be foreign to one who may not hunt or lives in the city or even in a subdivision.
When one lives in an area where he or she can step out their door onto their own land to take game its nonsensical and foolish to pull a load between an evening hunt yesterday and a morning hunt today (as long as condensation is accounted for)

For me in the cold I dont bring my loaded guns into the house, they stay in the garage, in the truck or on the porch of the cabin so that I dont have to deal with condensation.

Oh yeah, mine has a dry pan and a blocked touchhole, yet I consider it "loaded" for the ball and charge in the breech. So it, like most things, depends upon some definitions. Also, I'm the only inhabitant of my zones, me and two pups.

EVERY ONE untiI check it and ensure it is NOT loaded, you can not pass a weapon to anyone in my family Until you prove it is not loaded ,then  who ever it was passed to rechecks it ,muzzle safety then and only then is it OK to go on,

One. My .54 deer rifle. Empty pan, toothpick in touchhole, hammer down with flint slightly cutting into hammerstall, all covered with a cow's knee tightly laced.
There is also a rolled sheet of paper partly inserted in barrel stating "This gun is loaded. Danger"

It will stay this way until I take a deer then the process is repeated. If no shot is taken the rifle will remain in this condition until the season ends.
If nothing is in season my ML's are not loaded. I have much more efficient guns for protection.

Retired.... can and do go hunting on a whim...mine stay loaded till seasons end....weather there in the truck or house.

Used toothpicks in the past till i lost a tip in the breech powder...now a piece of leather up against the touch hole works for me.
.
Thanks SMO for that tip.
