Bergmann, he's built a bunch of nice guns over the years and at a nice price too. Very prolific and high quality too.

This is my Bucks County Schimmel.  Allen Martin used a small Siler lock and a Getz 44" swamped barrel.

Love the finish on this gun.
Great colour and such a soft lustre finish really shows off the grain
and allow the wood to glow.

Yep, Martin may make a pretty good gun maker one day. ;)

Ya, Mike, he out did himself on this one.  Very plain and super elegant.  It has no butt plate or entry thimble.  It is the lightest flint gun I have - may not weigh 6 lbs.  I don't know Allen's stock finish, but I wouldn't change it.  Maybe Allen will step in and tell us his stock finish.

Here's mine.  I built it myself and it's got plenty of warts, nothing at all like some of the beauties already posted, but I like it well enough.  .36 Green Mountain barrel, 3/4" in a Southern Mountain rifle half-stock.

The pictures of your woods reminds me of my home...South Western Ontario!  I miss the squirrel hunting of my youth.

I'm very curious about that tang peep.  Do you like it?  Does it have the same ability for pinpoint accuracy (I would presume it would have to for head shots on squirrels).  Does it allow plenty of light in?  My eyes aren't what they used to be and I'm very curious about the idea of rear peep sights, but I'd hate to do it and find that my accuracy ends up suffering.

I bought it online.  Had to take a lot of wood off it. Now its a real slim rifle. I did the finish on the metal and wood

I enjoy all of Packdog's work, and especially the double-ended patchbox on that one.  He's the one that sent me here to ALR too.  Now I know who to blame ;D

Ganggreen, don't sale yourself short, that is a really nice rifle.  There's something about a slender, well built, half-stock flintlock that's very pleasing to the eye.   Plus it's pretty darn unique....Mick C

Hanshi, I agree with you.  Not everyone can build a rifle like some of the masters on this forum, but I've never seen anything here for a person to be ashamed of either.

Thanks very much for the compliment MickC (and others).  That's the good thing about photography, sometimes it hides certain things.   :D

Alright, I'm finally getting in on the best topic ever!  A hunt from this afternoon.  Tip Curtis, 42" A weight, .36 cal. 20 gr fffg.   I prefer small game to deer anymore.

C'mon, lets see some more!

Nice gun Goose, missed it elsewhere. Hope you and yours are well, but one squirrel won't feed all of ya.  :D
